Since 1995, Bonoful Handmade Paper has been making paper, using hemp, wheatstraw, pineapple leaves, coconut fibres, and cotton waste. As paper sales have declined, they've pivoted to other materials, such as hand stitched recycled sari fabric, also known as kantha.
